Alea jacta est. O vamos a decir, las tendencias están echadas. Londres ya es la segunda semana de la moda en el calendario. Ya sabemos todos que el próximo otoño-invierno vamos a llevar toneladas de pieles encima, mejor si son de algún color extravagante, y que el dorado y el plateado van a invadir nuestros armarios. Las faldas y vestidos midi crecen hasta el suelo y vuelven los 90. Todo esto, lo hemos visto en Nueva York y se ratifica en Londres. Sin embargo, cada ciudad tiene su estilo distintivo.

La capital británica siempre conserva su clásico estilo Brit: cuellos de camisa en Bora Aksu, los cascos de Beefeater en Daks, borrego -tan escocés- en Christopher Raeburn, influencias de los Swinging 60s en Orla Kiely, polos en Pringle of Scotland y, finalmente, cuadros escoceses en Vivienne Westwood Red Label y Simone Rocha e influencias victorianas en la colección de Meadham Kirchhoff. Después de todo, en una ciudad en la que la lluvia es el tiempo habitual, deben de saber cómo vestirse en invierno.

Alea jacta est. Or let’s say, the trends have been cast. London is already the second fashion week in the calendar. We all know that next fall-winter we will be wearing tonnes of fur –better if it is some unnatural color- and that golden and silver will take over our closets. Midi lengths grow down to our feet and the 90s are making their come back. All this, we have seen in New York and has been reinforced in London. However, each city has its own distinctive style.

The British capital never lets go of the classical Brit style: shirt collars at Bora Aksu, Beefeater hats at Daks, shearling –so Highlands- at Christopher Raeburn, Swinging 60s influences at Orla Kiely, polo shirts at Pringle of Scotland, and, last but not least, tartan by Vivienne Westwood Red Label and Simone Rocha and Victorian influence in Meadham Kirchhoff’s collection. After all, in a city where rain is the usual weather, they can’t go wrong with winter fashion.
