STYLE: Topshop

Growing up in Barcelona, when I was in college, one of the few alternatives we had to Inditex was a small store behind El Triangle called Topshop. I remember my first times at Topshop and how I fell in love with everything and I couldn't buy anything because, back then, it was very expensive for me even with the student discount. However, everything was so unique that I chose a piece and saved until I could buy it. I specially remember my first brown Oxford shoes that I had for ages. Topshop is specially good for shoes and jeans. It is there where I always find high-waisted pants and party clothing. With stores only in Madrid and Barcelona, Topshop clothing is still something different in my country.

BRANDS: JapanLA - Hello Kitty + The Simpsons Collection

Sometimes it is the silliest of news that makes your day. Just imagine discovering in the same day that there is this brand called JapanLA and that there is such a thing as a Hello Kitty Con in Los Angeles. As a die hard Hello Kitty fan, I couldn't be more excited. True, I will not be going since right now I don't have the time to go the distance out to LA. However, I hope the JapanLA store will be waiting for me next year when I will be honeymooning in the West Coast.

More exciting news, JapanLA is launching a capsule collection of 8 pieces where it has merged two of the most world-famous and world-favorite, why not, cartoons ever: The Simpsons, that yellow family I watch every single night on TV, and Hello Kitty the famous cat (oh, wait, it is not a cat!) with a red ribbon. Truth is that it is more like the Simpsons being Kittty-fied, to die for anyway. The collection will be presented at the aforementioned Hello Kitty Con on October 30thMy favorites: the red jacket and the all-characters dress.

Jamie Rivadeneira, JapanLA's founder, is not a newby at creating Hello Kitty-inspired collections. The store has already had 12 different small collections before, always inspired by Japanese street-style and how girls like to wear their clothes there. The collections will be available at 12 retailers including JapanLA's website. Will it sell out in no time?

STYLE: Planet Palmer - Hypnos

STYLE: Family Affairs - Milk and Honey FW14

Family Affairs new collection was introduced to society -and what a good society- during all the New York Fashion Week bustle. When I received the invitation for the presentation event at The Deep End Club I could have easily been on tears. Well, you know, I live in Madrid and I can't take the subway to go to the 1st and then happily go back home. Next year, I should try to schedule something and then my convince my future husband to come along with some rare show. (I'm sure it wouldn't be a hard negotiation).

Milk and Honey is the suggestive name the collection goes by, bringing autumn, warmth, sweetness and coziness to mind. However, seems to me, that the new pieces have a dark magic feel to it, potions and mermaids and some nice witchcraft. There is a mix of unique and comfortable with wise sexy that just appeals to me 100%. The inspiration takes us mainly to old Europe this time, guess Swiss Nina can't help it but to delight us with images of her (and mine) native continent.

Designer: Nina Egli

Inspiration: Ice skating in winter listening to Elliott Smith. Listening Neil Young in bed with your love. Eating French bread and peaches. Walking down a beach in Normandy. Mermaids and eating oysters. Hotel Gellert in Budapest. Drinking hot chocolate. Neko Case lyrics. Having late lunch by the river in Prague. Flea markets and cafés in Paris, buying records and old chinaware. Driving a convertible in a road in New Mexico. Memories of your grandmother. Autumn. Magic.

Trends: Doodle prints, twee, feminine, bodies, high waist pants

Key Colors: Grey, orange, prints that combine plants and anchors, original prints by Nina, dark teal

Materials: Cotton, hand embroidered sequined crystals, wool-silk blend, polyester, jacquard, wool-acrylic blend, silk

Who will wear it? Brooklyn girls, Europe style lovers, mermaids and New York party-hard girls.
