Conocer a tus diseñadores favoritos no es una cosa que pase muy a menudo, ¿verdad? Ir a New York y además tener la oportunidad de charlar, tomarme algo, visitar los estudios y tiendas de algunas de mis marcas favoritas fue todo un sueño. Mi primera visita fue la Sample Sale de Samantha Pleet en la tienda Horizons de Brooklyn en la que pude probarme algunos de los modelos de su colección Primavera-Verano 2014: Arcadia. Una colección inspirada en una isla paradisíaca llena de flores y grandes hojas verdes. ¿No os dan ganas de perderos por los mares del Caribe?
Getting to meet your favorite designers is not something that happens everyday, right? Going to New York and having the chance to chat, have a drink, visit studios and stores of some of my favorite brands was a dream come true. My first visit was to Samantha Pleet's Sample Sale at Horizons in Brooklyn, where I could try on some pieces of her Spring-Summer 2014 collection: Arcadia. A collection inspired by a paradise island full of flowers and big green leaves. Don't you want to get lost in the Caribbean sea just right now?

Arcadia es un paraíso mítico en el que la conexión entre humanos y naturaleza es total. No es raro creer que alguien que vive inmersa en el asfalto de New York sueñe en paraísos naturales y junglas. Samantha Pleet se ha inspirado para esta colección en las pinturas de Gaugin, Rousseau y Matisse y en los viajes de Darwin en el Beagle. Arcadia is a mythical paradise in which the link between human and nature is strongest. It is not hard to believe that someone who lives in the city that never sleeps dreams about natural heavens and jungles. Samantha Pleet inspirations for this collection range from the paintings of Gaugin, Rousseau and Matisse to Darwin's travels aboard the Beagle. Painters and scientist - they all were looking for their own idea of promised land. A Garden of Eden full of flowers in print and on your hair, big green leaves and high-waisted retro bikinis.
