En mi viaje a New York, fui la persona más afortunada del mundo al poder conocer algunas diseñadoras locales. Family Affairs, de la diseñadora Nina Egli, es una de las marcas a las que me siento más cercana. Me enamoraron sus diseños femeninos y con ese estilo vintage que tanto me va. Sin embargo, lo que más me enganchó a su marca son las historias que hay detrás. La propia historia de Nina ya es fascinante: de Suiza a New York, con una madre que trabajó para los Beatles en los 60. Para este verano, ha creado la colección Coconut Vision: un recopilatorio de los mejores momentos de los mejores veranos. Esos veranos que tienes en tu memoria y esos veranos que sueñas. Tomar el sol en Grecia, coger fresas en una casa de campo sueca, el cine al aire libre, flamencos, las playas mediterráneas, Mallorca, las luciérnagas, vacaciones en Roma, los mercadillos, tu helado favorito, un baño en el lago...

On my trip to New York, I was the luckiest girl in the world for being able to meet some local designers. Family Affairs, by designer Nina Egli, is one of the brands closest to my heart. I fell in love with its feminine designs and that vintage style I love so dearly. However, what hooked me to the brand are the stories behind each piece. Nina's own story is already fascinating: from Switzerland to New York, and a mother who worked for the Beatles in the 60s. For this summer, she has created Coconut Vision: a compilation of the best moments of the best summers. Those summers you keep in your memory or those summers your dream of. Favorite object? My stuffed animal monkey Affel that I've had since I was 6.

Dream lunch date? With my boyfriend at Williamsburg Pizza around the corner from my studio.

Dogs or cats? Dogs

Signature dish? Chocolate mousse and summer pasta with raw tomatoes.

Favorite room? The bedroom.

Main inspiration for Coconut Vision? Making out while picking up tomatoes on a farm, spending a day on a rowing boat with a picnic and a transistor radio, 80s desserts and watching the sun rise in Marseille.

Conocer a tus diseñadores favoritos no es una cosa que pase muy a menudo, ¿verdad? Ir a New York y además tener la oportunidad de charlar, tomarme algo, visitar los estudios y tiendas de algunas de mis marcas favoritas fue todo un sueño. Mi primera visita fue la Sample Sale de Samantha Pleet en la tienda Horizons de Brooklyn en la que pude probarme algunos de los modelos de su colección Primavera-Verano 2014: Arcadia. Una colección inspirada en una isla paradisíaca llena de flores y grandes hojas verdes. ¿No os dan ganas de perderos por los mares del Caribe?

Getting to meet your favorite designers is not something that happens everyday, right? Going to New York and having the chance to chat, have a drink, visit studios and stores of some of my favorite brands was a dream come true. My first visit was to Samantha Pleet's Sample Sale at Horizons in Brooklyn, where I could try on some pieces of her Spring-Summer 2014 collection: Arcadia. A collection inspired by a paradise island full of flowers and big green leaves. Don't you want to get lost in the Caribbean sea just right now?

STYLE: Killing Couture

Enamorarme de nuevas marcas es uno de los grandes placeres de trabajar en moda. Del Mercado Central del Diseño me llevé muchas marcas, una de ellas Killing Couture!, que justo una semana más tarde presentaba su colección de primavera-verano 2014 en su taller de La Latina. ¿Verano, alguien ha dicho verano? Tenéis ganas de que llegue, ¿verdad? Cuando descubrí la colección Sail Away desée inmediatamente que fuese 21 de junio y estar de vacaciones en Niza o Saint Tropez.

Falling in love with new brands is one of the great pleasures of working in fashion. At Mercado Central del Diseño, I discovered many brands, one of them Killing Couture! that was having a collection presentation a week after. Killing Couture presented in their La Latina workshop the new spring-summer 2014 collection. Summer? Dis someone mention summer? Can't wait for it, right? When I saw the Sail Away collection I inmediately wished it were June 21st and to find myself in Nice or Saint Tropez.
