DEERLIFE: Madrid Fashion Film Festival - MFFF Exhibit Part 2

Did you think that, having written part 1, I would leave you without a part 2? I think that is virtually impossible for someone with OCD. Definitely impossible, yes. So what if the Madrid Fashion Film Festival ended last week? Any time of year is great to watch fashio films. Fashion films are beautiful, artistic, some even edgy and provocative, and you can always scrap 5 minutes to enjoy some beauty, right?

Jamie Bochert's irresistible allure, an Amélie moment with raspberries -like mine on Instagram- and quotes on beauty.

Wonderful job by Barcelona collective Canada. Pretty, fun and sex-centered. Another Amélie moment -of the he-likes-insert moment of pleasure kind-. X-rated though.

The edgiest Kling line in its angeleno environment and 90s aesthetics to the max. Fun, low-res image and girls dancing.

Amor.
It may be true that I'm a little biased by my love of the brand, but this is, without a doubt, my favorite from the second selection. A film that is at the same time its own making of, how mind-blowing is that? Love.

DEERLIFE: Madrid Fashion Film Festival - MFFF Exhibit Part 1

Estilo, amor, sexo, violencia, música, humor, color... Es decir, moda.

Today my spiritual break weekend came to an end. Time to recover the super PR Girl suit and go back to the city. Madrid Fashion Film Festival just began its second edition today: a fresh festival which unites fashion and culture, something the world needs much more of. At 6.30pm, we have had the pleasure of watching the first part of the festival selection for 2014. Style, love, sex, violence, music, humor, color... That is, fashion.

OUTFIT 0013

Mi cabeza viaja a París.

Lately, every time I rest my head on my pillow and try to sleep, something happens. It can be seconds or long minutes. It also happens when I am awake, if I am not too engrossed by work. What's the matter with you? My head flies to Paris. Oh, that. I can't help it, it is my favorite city in the whole wide world. Because every time I go there, I build it up from scratch my way and I fall in love again. To me Paris has been rebellion, romanticisim, literature, boheme, fashion, glamour. Anything I want. It is always with me: in the red bonnet, in my combination of the flag colors, in red lips. For a few days, everything signals me to go back. And I try to fill the void eating crepes and reading French magazines. Until I am back where I belong.

BRANDS: JapanLA - Hello Kitty + The Simpsons Collection

Sometimes it is the silliest of news that makes your day. Just imagine discovering in the same day that there is this brand called JapanLA and that there is such a thing as a Hello Kitty Con in Los Angeles. As a die hard Hello Kitty fan, I couldn't be more excited. True, I will not be going since right now I don't have the time to go the distance out to LA. However, I hope the JapanLA store will be waiting for me next year when I will be honeymooning in the West Coast.

More exciting news, JapanLA is launching a capsule collection of 8 pieces where it has merged two of the most world-famous and world-favorite, why not, cartoons ever: The Simpsons, that yellow family I watch every single night on TV, and Hello Kitty the famous cat (oh, wait, it is not a cat!) with a red ribbon. Truth is that it is more like the Simpsons being Kittty-fied, to die for anyway. The collection will be presented at the aforementioned Hello Kitty Con on October 30th. My favorites: the red jacket and the all-characters dress.

Jamie Rivadeneira, JapanLA's founder, is not a newby at creating Hello Kitty-inspired collections. The store has already had 12 different small collections before, always inspired by Japanese street-style and how girls like to wear their clothes there. The collections will be available at 12 retailers including JapanLA's website. Will it sell out in no time?

A long, long time ago, well, maybe not that long, I was a young girl who majored in English at University of Barcelona. My focus was on American Lit and I remember how fascinated I was by the clothing of the pilgrims who arrived in the Mayflower in Plymouth. I also remember loving the way the Amish dressed and the Orthodox Jews looks. You live, you learn.
