En la segunda jornada del MFShow Men, pude asistir al desfile de Tenkey. Poco después de encontrar mi asiento en la zona de prensa, y rodeada de un montón de caras conocidas (por mí, supongo) empezó el desfile. Tengo que reconocer que mi parte más nerdy siempre me puede y nada me gusta más que una referencia a la cultura pop. En este caso, Tenkey se inspiró para su colección de primavera-verano 2015 en los looks costeros de El Talento de Mr Ripley en la película de Anthony Minghella que, a su vez, esta basada en un libro de Patricia Highsmith (*amor*).
On the second day of MFShow Men, I attended the Tenkey fashion show. A little bit after I found my seat at the press area and surrounded of familiar faces (familiar to me, I assume) the models started down the runway. I must admit that my nerdy self always gets me and I like nothing more than references to pop culture. In this case, Tenkey's spring-summer 2015 collection was inspired in the coastal looks from The Talented Mr Ripley, the movie version by Anthony Minghella which is based in a book by Patricia Highsmith (*love*).
La colección Tenkey me llevó (aunque, por desgracia, solo en mi cabeza) a la costa italiana, lo que es lo mismo, a chicos con estilo y bien vestidos incluso en verano y orillas del mar. Los looks marineros dominaron la escena y el Mediterráneo actuó de hilo conductor. Pañuelos bien ataditos al cuello, sombreros de paja, rayas, pantalones muy remangados y espardeñas formaban el look estrella - un poco gondolero a mi parecer y que me encantó.
The Tenkey collection took me (although, unfortunately, only in my mind) to the Italian coast, or what is the same, to stylish men even in summer by the sea. Navy looks abounded and the Mediterranean was a common place. Kerchiefs knotted tight to the neck, straw hats, stripes, cuffed pants and espadrilles were the basics for the most recurrent look - a little bit gondolier, which I loved.
Los colores azul marino, blanco y gris se combinaron con vitaminados: amarillo limón, verde menta y coral. Las americanas estuvieron presentes pero siempre combinadas con shorts o jeans para mantener el tono casual. El verano no es momento para reuniones de traje y chaqueta. En resumen, una colección clásica (que ya hacen falta), per a la vez fresca, elegante y capaz de captar la esencia de la temporada. Punto extra - un gustazo ver a los mejores bloggers masculinos en el front row.
Subdued colors like navy, white and grey were combined with vitamins: lemon yellow, mint green and coral. Blazers were present but always combined with shorts or jeans to keep them casual. Summer is not the time for suit meetings. To sum up, we enjoyed a classic collection (and they are needed) which was fresh at the same time, elegant and able to convey the essence of the season. Extra bonus - glad to see the best male bloggers in the front row.
