Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid, es decir, nuestra Cibeles de toda la vida. Es una pasarela que me da un poco de pena. No me mal interpretéis y seguid leyendo. Me da pena verla ahí encajada cual jamón entre panes, metida con calzador entre Nueva York y Milán y coincidiendo con Londres. Me hace pensar en el típico chico o chica al que el grupo de los populares no invitan a sus fiestas. Ellos siguen esforzándose por coincidir e ir a los mismos sitios, pero nada. Y eso no quiere decir que no valgan. Hay talento, y mucho, en Madrid.
Tengo que decir que estoy un poco desencantada de los diseñadores más reconsagrados pero me emocionan los nuevos talentos que suben. Debo admitir que tengo especial predilección por Moisés Nieto, Juan Vidal y Lady Cacahuete. Ana Locking y Davidelfin me siguen sorprendiendo. Ailanto y Ion Fiz no han tenido ninguna colección que no me gustara. Hay muchas cosas criticables de MBFWM y a todos nos ENCANTA criticar pero ¿y qué hay de admirar la belleza y reconocer el esfuerzo? En mi opinión, hora de cuidar la moda española.
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid, let me tell you, we have always called it Cibeles. I feel a bit sorry about this Fashion Week. Do not misunderstand me and keep reading. I feel sorry about seeing it there, hardly fitting, like ham between bread, crammed with a shoehorn in between New York and Milan coinciding with London. Makes me think of those who the popular crowd do not invite to their parties. They keep trying to belong but they don't - which doesn't mean there is something wrong with them. There is talent, actually a lot, in Madrid.
I have to say that I am a bit disappointed in the most established designers but I am truly stimulated by young talents just starting. I must admit I have a soft spot for Moisés Nieto, Juan Vidal and Lady Cacahuete. Ana Locking and Davidelfin keep surprising me. Ailanto and Ion Fiz never had a collection I did not like. There a lot of things worth criticizing from MBFWM and we all LOVE to criticize but, what about admiring beauty and recognizing effort? In my opinion, time to support Spanish fashion creation.
